MUMBAI ZOMI CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP (MUMBAI ZOMI WELFARE FUND)
N O T I C E
Mumbai, the 11th September 2005 MZCF/MZWF/2005/1:
This is to inform that, the ‘Executive Committee’ of Mumbai Zomi Christian Fellowship
in its meeting held on 3/09/05 has resolved to form Mumbai Zomi Welfare Fund (MZWF)
which will operate under the aegis of MZCF. The aim and objectives of the ‘Welfare
Fund’ is to create ‘Corpus Fund’ which will provide financial aid to its members
in the event of death. The ‘Mumbai Zomi Welfare Fund’ will be used for the welfare
of any Zomi (regardless of faith) living in Mumbai and its suburbs. Any individual
and family can become a member of the ‘fund’ by enrolling themselves by paying a
nominal membership fee which, for the current year 2005-06, is fixed at Rs. 100/-
per head. All members who are living in Mumbai with an intention of staying for
a period of not less than 3 months are invited to be a member. Subscription of membership
for the year 2005-06 is opened with immediate effect and will be closed on 31st
October 2005. All interested individuals / families are requested to submit their
application along with their membership fee at the earliest on the enclosed application
form. Application(s) may be submitted to any of the following persons :

  • Pa Joshua L. Singson (Secretary, MZCF)
  • Pa Ginminthang Shoute (Finance Secretary MZWF)
  • Pa Tongkhopao Lhungdim (Treasurer, MZWF) Secretary, MZCF

To provide financial assistance to its members in the event of death, Mumbai Zomi
Christian Fellowship (hereinafter referred to as “MZCF”) created a corpus fund named
Mumbai Zomi Welfare Fund (hereinafter referred to as “MZWF”). MZWF was founded in
a Bye-Law, which was approved by the Mumbai ZCF Executive Committee on the 3rd September
2005. The provisions of the Bye-Law are as follows:

  1. AIMS & OBJECTIVES: The aim and objectives of the fund is to create a
    corpus fund to provide financial aid to its members in the event of death.
  2. MEMBERSHIP: Any Zomi (regardless of faith) living in Mumbai and its suburbs,
    on paying an annual subscription to the Fund shall be a member. Membership to the
    Fund will be for a period of one year, starting on 01st July of the current year
    and ending on 30th June of the next year.
  3. MANAGEMENT OF THE FUND: Mumbai ZCF Executive Committee shall be responsible
    for managing the Fund in the spirit of stewardship. Mumbai ZCF Executive Committee
    shall prescribe annual Membership Fee and its decision shall be final and binding.
    Mumbai ZCF, for tenure of one year, shall appoint a Finance Secretary and a Treasurer
    for the MZWF. They shall have the responsibility of day-to-day operation of the
    Fund. A separate bank account in the name and style of “Mumbai Zomi Welfare Fund”
    shall be opened in a Bank acceptable to MZCF. The Account shall be operated by MZCF
    under the joint signatures of 1) Chairman MZCF, 2) Secretary MZCF, 3) Finance Secretary,
    MZWF and 4) Treasurer, MZWF. Any withdrawal of the Fund shall be released under
    the signature of any 2 (two) operators of the Fund. The Fund shall be audited yearly
    by auditors appointed from time to time by the MZCF Executive Committee.
  4. CEILING OF PAYMENT: Mumbai ZCF shall fix, from time to time, the amount that
    can be paid to a member in the event of death.
  5. JURISDICTION: Any disputes or grievance about the fund shall rest within
    the Jurisdiction of Mumbai only.
